I love having fresh flowers in the house. It is easily my favorite way of making myself feel better when I’m having a bad day. Usually I pick up something pretty from my grocery store or the farmers market, and sometimes I make my husband send me fancy bouquets...

I have used Bloom That to send flowers to people before, and today I received my first bouquet from them. I really like this company, they only offer a couple of bouquet options with the idea of using local fresh flowers. And the good news is that they offer delivery on the East Coast and to most of California.

I love the simple, curated arrangements and they come beautifully wrapped in burlap and tied with a ribbon. The stems are wrapped in a wet sponge to keep them fresh on their way to you, and they provide instructions on how to keep your flowers happy and plant food. I also love that during special times of the year they offer options other then flowers, like for Father’s Day when I sent my husband flowers in the form of Four Roses small batch bourbon.

The only issue I have had with this service is that if you want a specific bouquet it may not be available next day, if you need to send flowers on a particular date I would look in advance.  I recently started using a grocery delivery service called Good Eggs, they finally deliver to my part of the bay and I love them. Their focus is on supporting what they refer to as local food systems, and they have a fairly extensive list of requirements for the majority of the food they carry. These include supporting the local community, paying employees fair wages, sustainability, and transparency of ingredient and process. I won't continue to bore you with the details, but if you're interested check out on their website here.

A Few other things I love about them… Next day delivery, free with orders over $60 and they don't require you to be home to accept the delivery. Additionally, they will also return and refund your deposit for any glass containers like the huge glass jugs that my toddlers organic whole milk comes in. The produce is super fresh, in great condition. It is also a great place to find ethically farmed meat and fish, which can be difficult to locate in one place and usually requires a trip to the farmers market.

They are undeniably more expensive in some departments. While I have not price-checked everything, because I’m lazy, they do carry some of the same brands that I buy at my local grocery store and these have been the same or cheaper on Good Eggs. Obviously, meat and cheese range from more expensive to much more expensive, but also delicious to much more delicious.
The website is easy to use and very informative with pictures and information on all of their products. Any time there has been a problem with delivering something that I’ve ordered I’ve always received a prompt email offering a refund and explanation. I have only had one issue with missing an item in my delivery, and Good Eggs responded to my email almost immediately with an apology, refund for the item and a $10 credit for the inconvenience.
Which leads me to my only issue with the website, there is no way to see any credited money or refunds that may be on your account. These will show up on the bill that you receive when you make an order, I have actually brought this up with someone from Good Eggs and I think there will be a solution to this issue in the near future.

Also, today they sent me flowers and a cute tea towel, so who doesn't love that!
