I don’t know much about baseball; or Jesus for that matter, but this cocktail is delicious and complicated. This is the second recipe in The Aviary Cocktail Book, and I’m getting the sinking feeling that its only average in complexity and effort. I don't know what they charge for this drink, but pay it, it is a lot. All said and done there are eight ingredients in the final cocktail, I’ve taken a picture so you can really wrap you head around it. it requires a simple syrup, ginger syrup, celery stock and Serrano ice, as well as a tincture all made fresh and from scratch by me (or you if your up to it). Obviously, I’m not going to post the recipe because I just spent two days prepping for this cocktail, and because it is vast and complicated. Luckily, it’s a great cocktail. It’s bright, well-balanced, not too sweet and perfectly spicy; even with my mediocre attempts. This introduced me to a couple of new flavors and the slightly terrifying technique of making tinctures at home, and now I know how to get 190 proof grain alcohol. At least it makes enough for a batch so you can show off for friends and family… does any one want to come over for drinks?
Have a happy weekend, Cheers!
