Blame this outfit on my current TV obsessions, HBO’s Perry Mason and the CBC’s Frankie Drake Mysteries, both of which take place in the 20’s and 30’s. I love anything with a high waist, and these linen pants from Lou & Grey are perfect! Paired with this striped button-down from Madewell, this outfit has a menswear vibe that was so popular during that era. I love these slides, also from Madewell, and I had to add them for a little fun. Sticking to my 1930’s theme, I made a King’s Jubilee cocktail, which was created by Harry Craddock in 1935 to Celebrate the silver Jubilee of King George V. I made mine with a little more rum and lemon juice because I found the Maraschino liqueur a bit over powering in the. original spec. The Ten to One Rum is so delicate that this makes for a very smooth drink, and the end result is well balanced, not too sweet, not too spirit-forward. I think this could be a new favorite!
