Holiday Card Photo Shoot!

It’s that time of year again! This is when I start planning our holiday card, and of course a family photo shoot. While looking for inspiration I found myself looking back at our shoot from last year, and I thought I would share.

I picked out all of our outfits, trying to work with a subtle holiday color theme with the red/cranberry colors. The inspiration for this shoot really came from the colors and the cozy feeling of the plaid Pendleton blanket that were are snuggling in. As you can see from the difference in the outfit idea pictures to the actual shoot I only have so much control over the husband...

Coming from Canada, the Christmas season really doesn't feel right without a serious chill in the air and I really wanted to feel that in our pictures. At the same time I wanted to do justice to our new home in California. Keeping that in mind I chose Ocean Beach as our shoot location because of its reputation for cold and dreary weather and whats more Californian then the beach?

So far this year I’m feeling evergreens and a dark romantic vibe.  Of course pulling that off with two babies and the uncooperative husband could be difficult. I’ll keep you posted!
