We’re on vacation visiting my in-laws in Oregon this week, but it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything so I thought I would share a new ( to me ) cocktail. While my experience with croquet has previously been limited to viewings of Heathers, my husband grew up playing the game and we brought a set with us. What do you drink while playing a British lawn game best associated with the Queen of Hearts? Pimm’s Cup, obviously.
I’ve never actually had one before, but it’s gin based and easily modified so it’s right up my ally. Bright, refreshing and as long as you have a bottle of Pimm’s Cup No. 1 lying around you can probably McGuiver something together. Pimm’s Cup There are a thousand and one variations in this cocktail, but I suggest start with the one in the bottle and tailor it to your taste and what’s on hand. 1.5 oz. Pimm’s Cup No. 1 Top with lemon lime soda or ginger ale ( I prefer the slightly more refreshing soda or tonic with just a touch of ginger beer and a squeeze of fresh lemon... eyeball everything, it’s key) Add ice and slices of lemon, lime and any other in-season and available fruit. Enjoy this cocktail with the last few days of your summer. Cheers!
