The Grasshoppers Garden… An Updated Favorite?

I try to submit something for the @homebarawards monthly cocktail contest, I don't win but I try. This month the challenge was to update everyones favorite classic, the Grasshopper… The only real requirement were that the drink remain green, but I also wanted to try to maintain the simplicity of the original as well as the creamy mouth feel. I’ve been itching to use my Chareau Aloe Liqueur and I thought it went thematically with a Grasshoppers environment so I went with Herbal/plant/grass flavors. Hopefully this is a more mature flavor profile update on a classic, though I’m not sure that it works. Try this at your own risk, I drank it.

Grasshopper’s Garden
1oz. Chareau Aloe Liqueur 
1oz. Green Chartreuse
​1/2oz. strong matcha tea
1/2oz. almond milk

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice until chilled and slightly diluted. Pour into a martini glass and enjoy.
